Meyers, the organizer of Cumberland's 10,000 Celenese workers into textile Workers Local 1874, the first president of the Maryland CIO, the McCarthy-era imprisoned Labor Secretary of the Communist Party, USA, and the close friend of author and Govans neighbor, Tim Wheeler.

Tim Wheeler has written over 10,000 news reports, exposés, op-eds, and commentaries in his half-century as a journalist for THE WORKER, DAILY WORLD, and PEOPLE'S WORLD. Tim also serve as editor of the PEOPLE'S WEEKLY newspaper. NO POWER GREATER is his third book. After residing in Baltimore for many years, Tim now lives in Sequim, Washington.
